The process of crafting custom made modern rugs »
The entire journey making a custom made rug commences with your requirements.
You can share any carpet photograph/design from our website, or another online/offline source.
Along with this, you need to share the changes required in the design. Maybe, you are keen on tweaking the design slightly or give it a healthy dash of your creative inputs.
Once we receive the draft design, our CAD designers proceed to produce the draft.
On approval, which typically takes two/three iterations between you and Rohit Sharma, we arrive at the final design.
The reason deitre for the customzing a modern rug is to have a carpet that is unique and appealing to you.
The regular rectangular shape of a carpet is just too common and that by itself becomes a reason to go for variation!
You can have shape options: square, oval, oblong, round, hexagon, octagon and in fact, any other shape that you would like us to craft.
The shape of the carpet is decided along with the design, as it becomes an intricate part of the carpet. A design, that is suited for the circular carpet may not be okay, for the hexagonal version.
Next, is the selection of materials.
We offer modern rugs in 100% Pure SheridanTM Wool (Australia), TencelTM (Lyocell), viscose, wool-silk and wool-viscose.
The placement of the carpet generally is the deciding factor in the selection of the material.
Places that have heavy footfalls, should have strong fibre modern rug like wool-silk, while rugs placed in the bedroom maybe 100% pure Sheridan wool.

Hand-knotted carpets are intense labor of love whereby each tuft in a carpet is created by literally tying a knot around a warp thread. This ancient and time-honored technique of weaving is extremely intricate, time-consuming, and demands ability that most weavers can only achieve after years of extensive training and extraordinary expertise.
Larger carpets often employ as many as a dozen skilled artisans working on a single carpet at the same time. The process may take as few as 12 weeks to as long as 3 years to yield a single carpet, of course, the exact time depends on the size, quality, intricacy of the design, and other parameters of the custom-made carpet.
The life expectancy of our hand-knotted carpets is estimated at 60 to 75 years making them virtually a lifetime purchase.
Hand-tufted »
A hand-tufted rug is manufactured using a tufting gun with needles mounted in the front. The production process is conducted by inserting the tufts by hand. The tufted gun employed to create artistic floor pieces shoots soft and lustrous yarns into the base. The rug is produced on a frame that is laced up with a cotton foundation with the imprint of the design on it.
With set mechanism, the yarn is shot and pulled back on the surface. This specially designed machine is loaded with all the required equipment and it creates the loop and makes a cut, as per the design. Once the tufts are done, the floor covering is then backed with canvas (or latex) to ensure endurance.
Larger rugs often employ 4 to 6 skilled artisans working on a single rug at the same time. This process may take as few as 4 weeks to as long as 24 weeks to yield a single rug, of course depending on the size, quality, design, and other parameters.
The life expectancy of our hand-tufted rugs is estimated at 20 to 25 years making them virtually a lifetime purchase.

The custom-made carpet can be made in diverse materials such as Highland Kashmir wool, New Zealand wool, mulberry silk (natural cocoon silk), viscose (artificial silk), and TencelTM or bamboo silk (both are organic silks). Also, we can make carpets in a combination of two materials, such as New Zealand wool with viscose blend.
Pile height (thickness) »
The custom-order carpets have a varying pile height from 10 mm to 18 mm depending on the construction style (knotted, tufted, hand-loom, etc.), design specifications, and customer requirements.
Manufacturing time »
The production time of the custom-made carpet takes anywhere between 4 weeks to 24 weeks, depending on several factors, such as the construction style (knotted, tufted, hand-loom, etc.), design specifications, the intricacy of pattern, number of colors to be used, and size of the custom-order carpet.
The time frame does not take into account any delays due to natural disaster, strife, go-slow by workers (strike) or circumstances that may be beyond our control.
Dyes »
All our eclectic carpets are made from the finest Azo-free dyes that are completely eco-friendly and have zero effect on the environment. Every single carpet is lovingly made by expert artisans who take pride in creating a work of art that is cherished like an heirloom.
The colors though fast are not completely fade-proof.
We, therefore, recommend the carpet to be rotated periodically if exposed to direct or harsh sunlight.
All our carpets are fundamentally treated with anti-fungus, moth, etc. procedures and are thus reasonably safe from most pest attacks.
Color variations »
For reproductions of carpets from an existing carpet or a picture of a carpet, we would have to use our best judgment on the sole basis of the picture or rendering that has been shared.
This means the color tones or shades may or may not be like the picture displayed on the screen due to digital photography, color settings, and/or capabilities of monitors.
It is practically impossible for us to replicate the same colors in the final carpet as seen on your computer/mobile/tablet or any other device(s).
Any variation in the final color tones is considered as a normal practice as these products have a tendency to reflect different shades of a color under different light and weather, type of camera used for photography, or type and settings on the electronic screen.
Also, this variation is more pronounced in lustrous fibers such as silk, viscose, and at times, even in high-grade New Zealand wool. As many of these fibers are hand-spun it is virtually impossible to maintain the consistency of the colors. We, therefore, request you to kindly consider this as an integral part of the bespoke rug ordering process.
Sample a.k.a. Strike-off Rug »
We also offer to make a sample (strike-off) before the actual weaving of the custom-made carpet. The sample is made at a nominal cost and usually takes 3 to 5 weeks to be made (for hand-tufted and hand-knotted construction respectively).
It is to be noted that a sample is not a miniature carpet but is to be used as a partial representation of the actual design as per the proportional limitations. This means the entire design will not be accommodated in the sample.
It is important to note the sample is made to provide an understanding of the quality, texture, and colors. All these points will be incorporated into the main carpet as per the feedback received after the sample has been reviewed. Therefore, the sample is not to be confused with the exact replication of the main carpet, but, a prelude to the final result. Any change required based on the sample’s appearance can be incorporated in the main carpet.

All our products are sold with an E-Certificate of Authenticity, in the form of the prestigious ‘RugAssure’ certificate relating to the quality of the carpet.
The certificate assures you about various aspects of the quality of the carpet, such as the density or grade of the fibres used in the construction, lineage, count of knots (in knotted carpets), dyes, and the origin of the work of art.

All our products come with an authentic appraisal E-Certificate which guarantees all the specifications of quality and grade of materials used in the making. We also offer a money-back warranty if these specifications don’t match the initial estimate.
Please note the warranty is not applicable for any variations in colors, design, dimensions or naturally occurring discrepancies of any form.
Refunds, returns, order cancellation, etc. »
Please note that considering these are handmade products we do not offer any refund, under any circumstances, and neither do we accept order cancellation, for any reason whatsoever, once the order has been confirmed.
We don’t have a returns policy other than this.
Change of mind in terms of not liking the product or it not matching with the décor or any other reason(s) will not be accepted as grounds to cancel the order at any stage after order confirmation.
Legal recourse is subject to Mumbai, India jurisdiction only.

An estimate on shipping is provided in the initial quote which includes charges related to packaging, handling services, transit insurance, service taxes, and fuel surcharge payable in Mumbai, India.
All our shipments are sent via FedEx and are door-delivered at any address in the world. Please note that the free shipping offer is not applicable to custom orders. Get more information on shipping, click here.
Payments can be made via wire transfer payable in any international currency to our bank account in Mumbai, India. The bank details are shared upon confirmation.
Other Terms & Conditions »
Once there is an agreement on the price and related terms we will make a computer-aided design (CAD) for confirmation. The CAD or the rendering will give you a preview of the colors, design, and size of the carpet beforehand and we will start manufacturing the carpet as soon as the CAD is approved. This service is free up to 1 CAD per design. Kindly note that the CAD option may not be possible for all designs, in particular the extremely intricate, Oriental style of Persian lineage rugs.
The price quoted in our correspondence will be honored for 60 days only – the rates may change after this period.
Please allow size variation of +/– up to 3% in the dimensions as these products are entirely handmade and therefore such variation is considered acceptable.
The order will be confirmed after we receive an advance payment of 50% and the balance 50% will be payable at the time of shipping from Mumbai.
