Bedroom & Foyer Natural Mulberry Silk Rugs
(5 ft x 3 ft or 1.50 m x 0.90 m)

Introducing our new Lakes of Kashmir Collection:

Inspired by the breathtaking flora and fauna of the Kashmir region, we are delighted to present a collection of handmade, hand-knotted Kashmir rugs. Each rug is carefully handcrafted using the finest natural mulberry silk yarns and measures 5 ft x 3 ft, making them perfect for bedrooms, foyers, entryways, and even wall hangings.

Every rug in this collection captures the essence of a distinct lake, incorporating colors, patterns, and textures that reflect the unique beauty of Kashmir’s water bodies.

Some rugs feature soft tones such as aqua, blue, silver-gray, lavender, and pale green, evoking the tranquil waters and the reflections of houseboats and floating gardens. These would be an ideal complement to neutral, pastel decor in bedrooms and corridors.

Other rugs showcase deep blue, indigo, and green hues with accents of earthy browns and gold. They resemble bold, flowing water motifs interspersed with foliage patterns inspired by the surrounding forests.

The rich texture reflects the depth and grandeur of the freshwater lakes in Kashmir and can be an inviting element for living rooms, entryways, and libraries.

Further sections of the collection draw inspiration from the icy-blue glacial lakes, featuring rugs in soft pinks, muted purples, azure, white, and sandy beige. These would be perfect as wall hangings or as scatter rugs in formal areas, kitchens, foyers, and dens.

Our designers have incorporated an array of motifs, from ripple patterns to lotus flowers, with delicate shading to mimic the play of light on the water.

The borders of these rugs showcase intricate patterns featuring houseboats or Mughal gardens, while expertly woven subtle nuances of wave patterns incorporate a shimmering silk effect, evoking the crystal-clear water of Nagin Lake, for example. Small geometric shapes or floral accents mimic the picturesque willow trees along the shore.

Additionally, the collection includes Pictorial rugs with bird motifs, specifically kingfishers and ducks commonly seen near the lakes. Reflective water designs evoke the calm and mirror-like surface of the lake, with delicate plant motifs around the edges.

For those inspired by glaciers, the collection offers gossamer-like abstract designs with floral borders, symbolizing the alpine flowers that bloom around lakes such as Gadsar Lake. The cool color palettes reflect the high-altitude, snow-fed beauty of these lakes, with some rugs featuring mountain patterns to capture the rugged beauty surrounding the high-altitude lakes.

The silk rugs are designed to mimic the changing colors observed in the lakes of Kashmir through gradient patterns. Mountain motifs in the background, with birds soaring above, add a sense of freedom and openness.

Much like the 50 Lakes of Kashmir, each of these 50 rugs is unique and timeless. Our experienced weavers, who have been perfecting their craft for centuries, have combined their artistry to achieve unparalleled details in the patterns and impasto-like coloring, lending a tactile landscape effect that enhances the depth and dimension of the designs.
