This oil-on-oak panel painting was completed around the years 1434–36 by the painter, Jan van Eyck.
The Virgin Mary is enthroned at the center of the space, probably representing the interiors of a church, with Christ on her lap. St. Donatian stands to her right and St. George to her left.
The panel was commissioned by van der Paele as an altar-piece.
